FITNESS LEVELS

There is no previous experience required.  Row the Erne welcomes rowers of all fitness levels, ages, levels of water competence.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please dress for the Fermanagh weather!  Possibly four seasons in one day, of course.  Dress as you would for some hillwalking.  So, we recommend layers that can be added or removed as the changing day dictates.  A waterproof jacket, rainproof trousers, hat and gloves are all essential

WHERE WE ROW

We are based in Waterways Ireland. Our rows include to the Ardhowen Theatre, to Culky Jetty, to Devenish, Inish Davar, up the Sillees River, around Enniskillen town and lots of other local nooks and cranny’s on the water. Sometimes we tie off at one of the many jetties maintained by Waterways Ireland. Other times we go wild and tie off to a tree! We live in a world of infinite possibilities.

Waterways Ireland adress:
2 Sligo Road, Enniskillen,
Co. Fermangh, BT74 7JY

Occasionally we have based ourselves at other places on the upper and lower lough to explore as many aspects of the Erne as possible.

WORKING WITH SCHOOLS

Row the Erne work with Waterways Ireland to deliver the Island Explorers Programme. Primary school students and their teachers join us for the day on Devenish island where they row the Menapian curach, dive into their local heritage and explore the biodiversity on the island.
